Fearless Women
Fearless Women
To celebrate the 110th International Women’s Day, the exhibition “Fearless Women” opened in Essen’s Grugapark on March 8, 2021. Thanks to the successful collaboration with the Equal Opportunities Office of the City of Essen and the Grugapark team, art lovers had the opportunity to admire 17 works by the artist Oliver Schäfer despite the strict Corona requirements. For the first time, the works were accompanied by texts by the Essen-based author and journalist Diana Ringelsiep. The exhibition, which was actually only planned to run until May 9th, was extended until October 5th due to great public interest. The Grugapark’s first open-air exhibition attracted tens of thousands of visitors throughout the entire exhibition period. The exhibition laid the foundation for the touring exhibition “Fearless Women” and has since been presented at many other locations.
