Fearless Women

17th May 2024 – 07th July 2024

In keeping with the theme of “Courage for Tomorrow”, the countrywomen of Höxter opened the exhibition “Fearless Women” together with the artist Oliver Schäfer on May 17th. Until July 7th, visitors have the chance to see 18 of Oliver Schäfer’s paintings in the archeology park on the Weser river. Veronika Schulte (Countrywomen Society Höxter), deputy district administrator Werner Dürdorth, mayor Daniel Hartmann and Huxarium executive Claudia Koch spoke at the opening event. Afterwards the initiator of the exhibition, Katja Hübner, and the artist Oliver Schäfer had a public conversation in which the artist had the chance to talk more about his ideas, why he paints these women, the painting process and he also answered questions of the visitors. The event ended with a guided tour that was given by the artist Oliver Schäfer, in which he talked more about each woman and what she stands for.

During the exhibition period, there were the following accompanying lectures, each of which began at 6 p.m. in the Archaeology Park:
