Fearless Women
Fearless Women
On March 8, 2024 — International Women’s Day — Oliver Schäfer opened his exhibition Fearless Women at the City Library of Haltern am See. A total of 15 paintings were on display until April 12.
At the festive opening, Mayor Andreas Stegemann and Library Director Andrea Coenen-Brinkert welcomed the numerous guests. Afterwards, freelance journalist and presenter Dr. Felicitas Bonk interviewed Oliver Schäfer, asking about the inspirations and background of his art.
In preparation for the exhibition, 20 children and young people from the library’s current writing workshops explored the theme of courage. Under the guidance of authors Mareike Graepel and Sandra Rodenkirchen, they created personal texts, some of which were read aloud by the young authors during the opening event.
The evening concluded with Courage is Colorful, a light show by artist Michael Held.
The exhibition was a joint project of the City Library, the Friends’ Association, and the Equal Opportunities Officer of Haltern am See.
