Fearless Women

08th March 2024 – 12th April 2024

On March 8, 2024, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Oliver Schäfer opened his exhibition “Fearless Women” in the city library in Haltern am See. 15 of his paintings were exhibited there until April 12th. At the ceremonial opening of the exhibition, Mayor Andreas Stegemann and the head of the city library, Andrea Coenen-Brinkert, addressed the numerous guests. The freelance journalist and presenter, Dr. Felicitas Bonk then had a conversation with the artist Oliver Schäfer and she asked him questions about the background to his art.
In the run-up to the exhibition, 20 children and young people from the current writing workshops dealt with the topic of “courage”. A selection of the individual texts, which were created under the direction of the two authors Mareike Graepel and Sandra Rodenkirchen, were read this evening by the children who wrote them.
The opening was rounded off with the light show “Courage is colorful” by light artist Michael Held.

The exhibition was a cooperation between the city library, the support association and the equal opportunities officer of the city of Haltern am See.
