Fearless Women
Fearless Women
The city museum in Hattingen-Blankenstein was pleased to welcome numerous visitors when the exhibition “Fearless Women” opened there on July 14th. On this occasion, museum director Gudrun Schwarzer-Jourgens and mayor Dirk Glaser welcomed the guests interested in art. In a conversation with the initiator Dr. Martina Przygodda (A KICK for Hattingen), Oliver Schäfer was able to tell visitors more about his artistic project and the women portrayed.
Oliver Schäfer’s exhibition “Fearless Women” was the reason for a student project on the topic of “COURAGE”, which was initiated and organized by Gudrun Schwarzer-Jourgens with 6 Hattingen schools and 200 students. The students’ work could be seen in addition to the “Fearless Women” exhibition in the city museum.
For the WDR Cultural Summer 2023, Anne Willmes visited the artist Oliver Schäfer in his exhibition and spoke to him in an interview about his works and his artistic creative process.
Due to great public interest, the exhibition was extended by a few weeks to September 10th.
